Cedonia M. Duplissey

April 19, 1931 - August 13, 2017

Cedonia M. Duplissey, 86, of Massena, New York, passed away Sunday evening, August 13, 2017, at Claxton-Hepburn Hospital, Ogdensburg, New York, surrounded by her loving family.

Cedonia was born on April 19, 1931, to the late Reverend William Allen and Mary Eula (Boudreaux) Cranford in Lake Charles, Louisiana.

Cedonia is survived by her daughter, Paulette Hamelin and her husband, Rick, of Massena; sons, Dewey Allen Duplissey of Massena and Arlen Paul Duplissey of Minnesota; twenty grandchildren. Ryan Reid, Cedonia Pires, George, Rickey, Linc, Drew, Stella, Olivia, and Dewey Hamelin, Steve Thomas, Lamar Duplissey and Rashonda Lareau, Darrin, Derrick, Devin, Crystal, Amber, Jewely, Jade and Stephanie Duplissey; fourteen great-grandchildren, Foxx Pires, Makkena, Logan and Gwen Hamelin, Mylia Reid, Henely and Elora Thomas, Alyson, Zachariah and Macey Duplissey, Clayton, Ryanne, Miyah, and Drake Laureau;  siblings, Delores Dauzat and Billie Dee Myers, both of Pitkin, Louisiana, Brenda Lanier and Allen Cranford, both of Sulphur, Louisiana; along with many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dewey Paul “Dude” Duplissey, in 2006

At the request of the family, there will be no public calling hours. A funeral service was held at 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 16, 2017, at Calvary Apostolic Church, 3 Martin Road, Massena, New York, with Reverend Frank Pollard, officiating and Reverend Mike Shaw, co-officiating. There will be a graveside service at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, August 19, 2017, at Indian Village Cemetery, Indian Village, Louisiana, with Reverend Dallas Mefford and Reverend Steve Stolztfus and, officiating, under the direction of Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee, Texas.
