Mary Corbello

June 10, 1931 - August 16, 2017

Mary Corbello, 86, of China, passed away Wednesday, August 16, 2017, at her home. She was born on June 10, 1931, to Victor Alfred Edwards and Kydie Rae Jirou of Beaumont. She lived in Beaumont until the age of nine and then moved to California with her parents until she returned to Texas as a young lady where she married and raised her family.

Mary is survived by her children, Michael Wayne Corbello and his wife, Debra, of China; Colleen McWhirter and her husband, Lynn, of Mauriceville; Pamela Lynn Jordan and her husband, Earl, of China; and Mary Kim Goodeaux and her husband, Paul Wayne, of China; sister, Jane Campbell and her husband, Billy, of Flatonia; grandchildren, Ashley Ballinger and her husband, James, of China; Keith Goodeaux and his wife, Jill, of Sour Lake; Shane Jordan and his wife, June, of Sour Lake; Stacy Keen and her husband, LD, of Lumberton; Steven Jordan and his wife, Jade, of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; Regan Corbello of China; Patrick Anderson, Jr. of Beaumont; Jennifer Handley and her husband, Daryl, of Boerne; and Orrin McWhirter and his wife, Callie, of Buna; twelve great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Howard Davis Corbello; great-grandson, Cooper Wayne Ballinger; and brothers, Keith Edwards and Steven Edwards.

A private family graveside service will be held at Pilgrim Rest Cemetery, Colmesneil, under the direction of Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made in memory of her great-grandson, Cooper Wayne Ballinger, to the China Elementary School Library, 605 Henderson Avenue, China, Texas 77613.

Your sassy self will be missed dearly Nanny. I can only hope that I am as spunky and spirited as you when I'm older. I will miss our conversations about the kids and our visits. I'm sure that Cooper was there to greet you with a big hug and a song...perhaps a dance and a piece of artwork as well... have to say that I'm jealous. I love you with all my heart Nanny.
