Rose Nell Chirafis Seymour

June 5, 1926 - August 22, 2017

Rose Nell Chirafis Seymour went to meet our Lord and Savior on Tuesday, August 22, 2017, in Beaumont. She was born in Dallas on June 5, 1926, to Jennie and Angelo Chirafis.

Rose Nell moved to Beaumont at an early age. She graduated from Beaumont High School in 1943 and married L.J. (Jay) Seymour on April 26, 1947. She was also a bookkeeper at The White House for many years. The pride of her life was her nine children. Rose Nell also helped Jay operate the family business, Seymour Upholstery, until his death. She was a lifetime member of St. Joseph Italian Catholic Church and worked tirelessly making biscotti cookies for St. Joseph Altars.

Survivors include her children, Sylvia Kampe of Katy; Larry Seymour of Reno, Nevada; David Seymour of Palestine; Jodie Knight and her husband, John, of Atlanta, Georgia; Mark Seymour; Tim Seymour and his wife, Vickie; Bonnie Seymour; and Steven Seymour, all of Beaumont; and Rose Lynn Grieco of Wimberly; sister, Mary Jo Canizaro of Beaumont; and many nieces and nephews. She was the proud Maw Maw of seventeen grandchildren and twenty-three great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Jay Seymour; brothers, Louis, Johnny, Kelly, and Sammy Chirafis; sister, Annette Danna; nephew, Louis Chirafis, Jr.; grandson, Eric Zeto; daughters-in-law, Ruth Seymour and Anita Seymour; and son-in-law, Bill Kampe.

A gathering of Mrs. Seymour’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., with a Rosary recited at 6:00 p.m., Friday, August 25, 2017, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 26, 2017, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1115 Orange Street, Beaumont. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Beaumont. Serving as pallbearers will be: Kevin Kampe, Jake Kampe, Matt Seymour, Daniel Seymour, Jason Knight, Mark Seymour, Jr., Sean Seymour, Bryan Seymour, and Samuel Grieco.
