Virginia O. Martinez

Virginia O. Martinez, 87, of Beaumont, died Friday, August 11, 2017, at Christus Hospital – St. Elizabeth, Beaumont. She was born on March 21, 1930, in Houston, to Francis Hernandez and Felix Ortega, Sr., and had been a longtime resident of Beaumont.

Virginia is survived by her daughter, Yvonne Dominguez, of Beaumont; son, John Villegas Martinez, Jr. and his wife, Taleah, of Kennesaw, Georgia; daughter-in-law, Norma Martinez; brother, Felix P. Ortega, Jr., of Boerne; sister, Mary G. Ortega MacDonald and her husband, Rod, of Petaluma, California; grandchildren, Christopher J. Dominguez and his wife, Allison, of Katy; Yvette Dominguez, Katherine Marie Tristan and her husband, Ben, and Mary Kathleen Adame and her husband, Ricardo, all of Beaumont; Jason Martinez and his wife, Veronica, of Cypress; Steven Martinez and his wife, Laura, of Austin; Dori Waugh and her husband, Brian, of Beaumont; John Christian Martinez, Jared Martinez, and Joel Martinez, all of Kennesaw, Georgia; great-grandchildren, Todd Dominguez and Nicholas Dominguez, both of Katy, Elizabeth Bahena, Shawn Hickey, Sabrina Tristan, Martín Adame, Ruben Adame, and Christian Adame, all of Beaumont, Clint Martinez, Justin Martinez, and William Martinez, all of Cypress, Aria Martinez, Bishop Martinez, and Ila Martinez, all of Austin, Alex Martinez and Chloe Waugh, both of Beaumont; great-great-grandchildren, Jose Bahena, Jr. “J.J.” and Ezbyn Us, both of Beaumont; and many extended family members of San Antonio.

She is preceded in death by her husband, John Villegas Martinez, Sr.; and son, Johnny Valentine Martinez.

A gathering of Mrs. Martinez’s family and friends will be from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m., with her Rosary recited at 6:00 p.m., Friday, August 18, 2017, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. A graveside service will be 2:30 p.m., Tuesday, August 22, 2017, at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzback Road, San Antonio.
