Feodor “Fred” Mokanyk

February 28, 1946 - November 16, 2017

Feodor “Fred” Mokanyk, 71, of Beaumont, entered into eternal rest, Thursday, November 16, 2017. He was born on February 28, 1946, to Anna Dupay Mokanyk and Feodor Mokanyk in Flint, Michigan. Feodor was a United States Air Force veteran having served in the Vietnam War from 1965-1969. He was a member of the VFW in Jasper, a staunch Conservative and a devout Christian.

Survivors include his son, Matthew Mokanyk and his wife, Kelly, of Traverse City, Michigan; daughter, Melissa Mokanyk and her fiancé, Donald Thompson, of Beaumont; sisters, June Haley and her husband, Dennis, of Gr Blanc, Michigan and Janice Forest and her husband, Gary, of Swartz Creek, Michigan; grandchildren, Andrea Hooks and her husband, Justin; Tristan Phelps; Dakota Mokanyk, and Mattison Mokanyk; great-grandchildren, Alahna Hooks and Hunter Hooks; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, 4 Bayou Brandt Drive, Suite B, Beaumont, Texas 77706.

A family committal was held at Broussard’s Crematorium under the direction of Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.

“God saw him getting tired, a Cure not meant to be. So he wrapped his arms around him and whispered ‘come with me.’ Fred worried at the thought of leaving his family, He said, ‘I must stay here to be a Grandpa that is my duty.’ God smiled and said, ‘I appreciate your concerns Fred but now you are with me.’ Fred felt Gods warm embrace and was immediately put at ease. Then God winked and said, ‘My place has quite a view.  You won’t miss a thing.’”
