Henrietta Matilda Fanders Keese

March 8, 1923 - November 9, 2017

Henrietta Matilda Fanders Keese, 94, of Beaumont, died Thursday, November 9, 2017, at Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas, Beaumont. She was born on March 8, 1923, to Frieda Reineking Fanders and Henry Fanders in Diller, Nebraska, and had been a longtime resident of Beaumont. Henrietta loved to sew and crochet. She became born again in 1973 and was involved in the Ladies Bible Study Group at Christian Fellowship Worship Center.

Henrietta was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. God had gifted her with a genuinely happy and upbeat personality that people were drawn to. You rarely found her without a smile on her face, a kick in her step, or a contagious giggle that would brighten up a room. Her sincere Christ-like character influenced and encouraged those around her. Many times her talent for sewing and crocheting blessed those who were fortunate enough to receive a handmade item from her. She shared so much love with so many people and she will be greatly missed. We rejoice with heaven at her homecoming.

Survivors include her daughter, Vicki Ellis of Beaumont; brother, R.H. Fanders and his wife, Phyllis, of Council Bluff, Iowa; daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Bernard Keese of Groves; grandchildren, Thad R. Keese and his wife, Carrie, of San Antonio and Bonnie Nolan and her husband, Joseph, of Bonner Springs, Kansas; and great-grandchildren, Ashley Keese, Briana Keese, T.J. Keese III, Weston Nolan, and Benjamin Nolan.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Warren Keese; son, Thad “Goat” R. Keese; granddaughter, Rachel R. Ellis; brother, Eldon Fanders; and sister, Rosalie Mayfield.

A gathering of Mrs. Keese’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Monday, November 13, 2017, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. Her funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 14, 2017, at Broussard’s, with interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Beaumont.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Christian Fellowship Worship Center Missionary Fund, 3950 Pointe Parkway, Beaumont, Texas 77706.

Dear Henrietta, I was your daughter=in=law for 44 years. You prayed for me and your son to become born again and GOD answered your prayers. Thank you for being the best Mother-in-law and friend that I could have ever dreamed of. All my Love. Elizabeth

We loved Henrietta. She was a special lady. We will miss her, her smile and her sweet attitude. She definitely was an inspiration to all of us at Christian Fellowship.

Meme treated me like family and I always felt like she was a bonus grandmother. Some of my favorite childhood memories were with Bonnie at her apartment. We would play for hours in her sewing room. She was a kind and generous woman that raised her family to be the same way. That’s why all of them are so lovable. It’s hereditary. It was taught from the top and trickled down. We have all been blessed by knowing you, Meme. You will always be missed but we know you are enjoying yourself up in heaven. Please give Rachel, Doe, Grandad and Granny a big hug when you see them. Lots of love until we see you again. Xoxo

Vicki, I am sorry for your earthly loss. I know what is like losing your mother......your best friend, advice giver........but we will see them again! I always appreciated how much she loved Lacey. She was like another grandmother to her. She will be greatly missed.
