George Anthony Bryan, Jr.
March 25, 1928 - January 17, 2009

George Anthony Bryan, Jr., 80, of Beaumont died January 17, 2009. A native of Queens, New York and a resident of Beaumont since 1962, George was a retired Biology Professor from Lamar University and a veteran of the United States Army.  An avid outdoorsman, he was a forest ranger in Idaho and Oregon, and hunted, fished and bird watched throughout the United States.

 

He is survived by his wife, Gabrielle Bryan of Beaumont; sons, George Bryan and his wife Cheryl of Beaumont, Charles Bryan of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Joseph Bryan and his wife Caroline and their daughter Alicia of Beaumont, John Bryan and his wife Bernadette and their daughter Meaghan of Houston; daughter, Suzanne Bryan and her partner Emily Bryant of LaMarque, Texas; sister, Joan Lerner and her husband Ed of Concord, Massachusetts; and nieces, Jennifer Gill and Elizabeth Lerner.

 

Graveside service will be 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, January 21, 2009 at Forest Lawn Cemetery under the direction of Broussardís, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.  A gathering of family and friends will be Tuesday evening, January 20, 2009 from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at the mortuary.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lamar University Biology Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 10011, Beaumont, Texas 77710.
