Charles "Charlie" Anthony Murrell

Charles Anthony “Charlie” Murrell, 62, of Winnie died Friday, May 4, 2012, at Harbor Hospice, Beaumont.

He was born June 27, 1949, in Beaumont, to Lucy Leger and Joseph Wayne Murrell, and lived in the Winnie area all his life. He was a truck driver with the petroleum industry and enjoyed fishing and doing carpentry work. Charlie was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church in Winnie.

He is survived by his son, Wesley Murrell and his wife, Wendy of Nederland; daughter, Connie Tate and her husband, Jason, of Carlsbad, New Mexico; brothers, David Murrell, and his wife, Dina, Ronald Murrell, Louis Murrell, and Edward Murrell, all of Winnie, and Mike Murrell and his wife, Shelia of Sour Lake; sister, Susan Murrell of Winnie; grandchildren, Jesse Tate, Jacob Tate, and Ian Tate; and a host of family and friends.

A gathering of his family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., with a Rosary recited at 6:00 p.m., Monday, May 7, 2012, at Broussard’s, 134 W. Buccaneer Drive, Winnie. His funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 8, 2012, at Broussard’s, with burial to follow at Fairview Cemetery in Winnie.
