Ella Gary
June 14, 1917 - July 1, 2012

Ella Gary, 95, of Nederland, died Sunday, July 1, 2012, at Oak Grove Nursing Home, Groves. She was born on June 14, 1917, in Hot Springs, Arkansas, to Rosa Geurin Dickson and Charles Thomas Dickson, and had been a resident of Nederland since 1951. Ella was a longtime member of Church of Christ, active in women’s group, and a loving grandmother.

 

Survivors include her son, James Gary and his wife, Karen, of Port Neches; grandchildren, Chuck Gary of Nederland and Jennifer Toledano and her husband, Andre, of Groves; great-grandchildren, Karissa and Brock Lemire, Demetris Bazile, and Jacoby and Deja Garlington, and Jesse James; great-great-grandson, Braydon Parker; nieces, Nola Freeman and Ellen Bratton; and nephew, Charlie Dickson.

 

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jim Gary; granddaughter, Kathy James; and brothers, Edgar and Bert Dickson.

 

A memorial service for Mrs. Gary will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, July 5, 2012, at Full Gospel Christian Center, 9401 Highway 69 South, Nederland. A family committal will be held at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Groves.
