David Gartner

David Herbert Gartner, 88, of Beaumont, died Wednesday, November 6, 2019, at Harbor Hospice, Beaumont. He was born on August 6, 1931, in Sidney, Ohio, to Bernice Bowdle and Herbert Louis Gartner. David graduated from Ohio State University in 1954, and was a member of the Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity. He was honorably discharged as a Lieutenant after serving two years in the United States Army. David retired from DuPont as a chemical engineer after thirty-two years of employment.

Survivors include his sons, Richard Gartner and his wife, Beverly, of Richmond; William Gartner, of Beaumont; Stephen Gartner, of Curtis, Nebraska; and Kenneth Gartner and his wife, Tracy, of Beaumont; grandchildren, Christine Lee and her husband, Jeremiah; Melody Gartner; Georgia Bolser and her husband, Ian; Colleen Migl and her husband, David; Stephanie Humpherys and her husband, Darren; David T. Gartner; Julianna Gartner; and Grant Gartner; and great-grandchildren, Fenix, McKenna, Hunter, Caroline, Gabby, and Brayden.

David is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Caroline Gartner; and brother, Ralph L. Gartner.

A memorial gathering of Mr. Gartner’s family and friends will be from 4:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m., Saturday, November 9, 2019, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. Cremation arrangements are being handled by Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont.
