Hazel Roberts

Hazel Roberts, 96, of Beaumont, died Thursday, January 9, 2020, at Brookdale Dowlen Oaks, Beaumont. She was born on August 4, 1923, to Eva Bourke White and Lewllyn Fred White, in Beaumont. Hazel went by more than one name, she was also called Mamaw, Aunt Hazel, and Aunt Hon by all of her family and family of heart.

Survivors include her husband, Virgil Roberts; and daughter, Shirley Nantz and her husband, William, all of Beaumont; grandchildren, James Nantz, of Vidor, Angelia McLendon, of Houston, and Jarrod McLendon and his wife, Cindy, of Nederland; great-grandchildren, Jarec McLendon and Madison Dubois, both of Nederland; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her daughter, Karen McLendon LeGros.

A gathering of Mrs. Robert’s friends and family will begin at 10:00 a.m., with her funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 11, 2020, at First Christian Church, 5290 North Caldwood Drive, Beaumont. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.
