James C. Rogers

James C. Rogers, 81, of Nederland, died Sunday, February 11, 2018. He was born on June 27, 1936, in Clarksville, Arkansas, to Mary Joe Clark Rogers and L.W. Rogers.

James was a math teacher at Nederland High School in the early sixties. He was a computer programmer and enjoyed photography and target shooting. James owned Rogers Auto Parts on Nederland Avenue for thirty-nine years.

Survivors include his daughter, Becky Powell and her husband, Tim, of Beaumont; granddaughters, Amanda Powell of Nederland and Katherine Powell of Beaumont; great-grandson, Nicolai Gannon of Nederland; and brothers, Joe Roger and his wife, Janet, of Houston and Lawrence Rogers and his wife, Mary, of Maryland.

A gathering of Mr. Rogers’ family and friends will begin at 1:00 p.m., with his funeral service to follow at 2:30 p.m., Sunday, February 18, 2018, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. His cremation arrangements will be handled through Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont.
