Mae Lavespere

January 28, 1932 - February 9, 2018

Mae Alice Lavespere, 86, of Lumberton, died Friday, February 9, 2018, at Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas, Beaumont. She was born on January 28, 1932, in Natchitoches, Louisiana, to Margie Shirley and Willie Elvin Behan.

Survivors include her children, Jimmy Lavespere and his wife, Melissa, of Port Neches and Sandra West, of Sour Lake; sister-in-law, Charlyn Behan; grandchildren, Anthony Arabie, of Sour Lake; Cassie Arabie and significant other, Hank Richard, of Orange; James Lavespere and his wife, Jessica; Jeremy Lavespere and his wife, Tiffany; and Megan Trahan and her husband, Donald, all of Port Neches; and great-grandchildren, James Arabie, David Swaim, Kyle Lavespere, Timothy Lavespere, Audrey Lavespere, and Evangeline Trahan; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mae is preceded in death by her parents; her husband of forty-seven years, James Henry Lavespere; brothers, Wayne Behan and Bill Behan; and sisters, Elvie Stephens, Jean Elliott, and Fern Johnson.

A gathering of Mrs. Lavespere’s family and friends will be from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Monday, February 12, 2018, at Abundant Life, 191 East Avenue N, Silsbee. Her funeral service will be 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 13, 2018, at Abundant Life, Silsbee, with her interment to follow at Old Hardin Cemetery, Kountze, under the direction of Broussard’s, 530 West Monroe, Kountze.
