Oscar Gonzalez

Oscar Gonzalez, 82, of Beaumont, Texas, passed away at his home, surrounded by family on November 18, 2020, after a yearlong battle with cancer.

He was born in Rio Bravo, Coahuila, Mexico on September 10, 1938, to Mr. Pablo Gonzalez Flores & Mrs. Concepcion Gonzalez. He is survived and deeply missed by his wife Rebecca of 51 years and his two sons, Oscar Gonzalez and his wife Vanessa of Katy, Texas, and their children Alyssa and Ava; Roy Gonzalez and his wife Lety Gonzalez of Beaumont, Texas, and their children Austin, Allison, and Aubrey. A list of extended family members includes sister, Lety Briseño and her husband Ted Briseño, sister, Mercedes Fernandez, and brother, Javier Gonzalez, along other family members.

Oscar was a kind and generous neighbor, friend, and Grandpa to many. He enjoyed spending time with his family and cooking special meals for his grandchildren. He will be remembered for the love he had for his wife, family and friends. He was brave and found peace and comfort in his own home. His memory will always be in our hearts.

The family would also like to thank the staff at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston and Altus Hospice for their care, service, and compassion. 

A gathering of family and friends for Mr. Gonzalez will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Friday, November 20, 2020, at Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 21, 2020, at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, 4955 Pine Street, Beaumont, under the direction of Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont.

Our dear one was called away,

And has gone through with the Lord to stay.

Oscar Gonzalez, 82, de Beaumont, Texas, falleció en su casa el dia 18 de Noviembre, acompañado por su familia, después de una larga lucha contra el cáncer.

Nació en Rio Bravo, Coahuila, México el 10 de Septiembre del 1938, hijo del Sr. Pablo Gonzalez Flores y la Sra. Concepcion Gonzalez. 

Le sobreviven su esposa, Rebecca de 51 años y sus dos hijos, Oscar Gonzalez y su esposa, Vanessa e hijas Alyssa y Ava de Katy, Texas; Roy Gonzalez y su esposa, Lety Gonzalez e hijos Austin, Allison, y Aubrey de Beaumont; hermana Lety Briseño y su esposo Ted y familia; hermana Mercedes Fernandez y familia; y hermano Javier Gonzalez y familia.

Oscar fue un hombre amable y generoso con todos sus vecinos y con todos los que tuvieron el placer de conocerle. Fue un gran amigo para muchos. Agradecemos a todos por sus amistades. Le encantaba pasar el tiempo con su familia y cocinandole a sus nietos. Será recordado por el amor que le tenía a su esposa, su familia y a sus amigos. Era valiente, y encontró paz en la comodidad de su casa. Su memoria siempre estará con nosotros y en nuestros corazones.

Visitacion para el Sr. Gonzalez sera de las 5:00 p.m. hasta las 8:00 p.m, Viernes, 20 de Noviembre de 2020, en la Funeraria Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont. El servicio se llevará a cabo a las 2:00 p.m., Sábado, dia 18 de Noviembre, 2020, en el Cementerio Forest Lawn Memorial Park, 4955 Pine Street, Beaumont, bajo la dirección de la Funeraria Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont.
