W J Burrell, 96, of Evadale, died Sunday, April 14, 2024.  He was born on September 28, 1927, in Evadale, to Evie Lester Burrell and Walter Burrell.  W J proudly served his country in the United States Navy during World War II. Survivors include his daughter, Yolanda Franks of Kountze; sister, Faye Davis of Austin; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; and friend, Danny Robinson.  He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Bessie Lee Burrell; son, Keith Wade Burrell; grandson, Jeffrey Lynn Franks; and sisters, Hazel Anderson, Elaine Reeves, and Maureen Brown. Ingrid Larson Bumstead, 78. Of Silsbee, died Tuesday, April 9, 2024. She was born on April 7, 1946, in Fort Worth to Vera Lamb Larson and Roger Larson. Survivors include her children, Leon G. McMillan III of Houston, W. Kevin Bumstead of Vidor, and Kyle D. Dessie Gore McKee, 96, of Silsbee, died Monday, April 8, 2024. She was born on July 8, 1927, in Hardin County to Dell McKee Gore and Leonard Gore. Survivors include her son, Steve McKee of Silsbee; granddaughter, Dawn Massingill and her husband, David of Highlands; and great-granddaughter, Faith Massingill. Anna Ruth Baker, 81, of Silsbee, died Sunday, April 7, 2024. She was born on January 27, 1943, in Franklin, Louisiana, to Pearl Casey Idlett and John Idlett. Marvin Howard Taylor of Lumberton, Texas passed away on Saturday April 6 after reaching the age of 81 years old. He was born on July 19, 1942 in Beaumont, Texas to Grace Ida Gore Taylor and J.C. Taylor. He was one of seven siblings that he cherished and protected throughout their childhood. As a very young man he learned to work hard and provide for his family. He was an avid carpenter and could build anything – even if it meant telling someone else how to do it. In 1961, he met the love of his life, Freddie Sue and they married after three short months of dating. James “Jimmy” Bruce Butler, 71, of Silsbee, passed away on April 5, 2024. He was born on June 29, 1952, in Silsbee, to Ethel Estelle Kite Butler and I.M. Butler. Jimmy was a longtime resident of Hardin County where he retired as a captain from the Hardin County Sheriff’s Office. After retirement he went into home building/construction. Vikki Leigh May, 64, of Silsbee, died Wednesday, March 20, 2024. She was born on September 30, 1959, in Kountze, to Rachel Stephens Howell and Charles L. Howell. Vikki owned and operated Crack Masters for thirty years. She also worked with her mother-in-law in the flower shop where she loved designing flowers arrangements. Vikki loved her family and her grandbaby. Martin Luther Roberts III was born on March 20, 1947, in Baird, Texas. Martin lived most of his life in Clyde, TX and graduated 16th in his class, of course there were only about 16 kids in his class! The spring of ‘66, Martin met the love of his life, Brenda, while she and her family were dropping off her brother Andrew at the Air Force base in Abilene. Their love story started out at a Sunday church service. Brenda spied Martin while he was singing in the choir. To her surprise and everyone else around, including an old girlfriend, Martin decided to sit next to her for the service.  After church, Martin invited Brenda, Andrew and his “wingman” to go out for ice cream and putt-putt. Carrol “Butch” Lloyd Cross, 75, of Lumberton, died Saturday, February 24, 2024. He was born on December 21, 1948, in McLeansboro, Illinois, to Edna Marie Bevan Cross and Pleasant Walter Cross. His junior year he fell in love with one of the cheerleaders, Susan McGavran, and they dated throughout their high school years. He graduated in 1967 and received a football scholarship to Butler County Community College for the fall semester of 1967 and later to Missouri Southern in Joplin, Missouri. Amber Vinell McGallion, 42, of Silsbee, died Tuesday, February 20, 2024.  She was born on July 28, 1981, in Silsbee, to Laura Hooks McGallion and Norris Ebb McGallion. Survivors include her parents, Laura McGallion and Ebb McGallion of Silsbee; children, Lexie Lewis and Haley Lewis, of Silsbee, Morgan Lewis of Warren, and Shelby McGallion of Silsbee; five grandchildren; sister, Nikki Hooks of Silsbee; fiancé, Patrick Doyle of Silsbee; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins; and niece and nephew, Skylar Hooks and Dakota Hooks. Amber’s gathering of family and friends will be 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., Saturday, February 24, 2024, at Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee.  Her committal will be held at Broussard’s Crematorium.  

Mary Ellen Bridgers Delacerda, 66, of Silsbee, passed away Saturday, February 17, 2024.  She was born on March 19, 1957, in Beaumont, to Jean Rost Bridgers and Bob Bridgers, Jr. Mary was a longtime resident of Silsbee where she worked as a loan officer at Silsbee State Bank. Mary enjoyed her early years watching her children grow and supporting them in all their various sports activities and was always their biggest fan. Later, Mary enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and taking various trips with her family. Since retirement, Mary has spent the last fifteen years traveling the country and taking countless adventures with her best friend and husband, David.
