Alicia Rodriguez

Alicia Guadarrama Rodriguez, age 74 of Beaumont, Texas passed away on Tuesday September 17, 2019.  Alicia was born to the late José and Dionicia Guadarrama on August 16, 1945 in Nava, Coahuila, Mexico.  She was a bookkeeper and worked in downtown Piedras Negras, Coahuila, Mexico where she met her husband Roberto Rodriguez.  The couple were married on February 14, 1968 and lived briefly in California before moving to Texas to start a family.  Alicia was a stay at home mom for their three boys and later helped to care for some of her grandchildren.  She was very creative and loved gardening, knitting, and baking delicious desserts.  She also enjoyed playing cards with family, attending weddings and quinceañeras, and winning at bingo.

Alicia is preceded in death by her parents, her sister Maria Elena Garcia, and two of her grandchildren Veronica and Noah.  She is survived by her husband Roberto and their sons and daughters-in-law José and Emily, Carlos and Cathy, and René and Nina.  She is also survived by grandchildren Isabel, Antonio, Evan, Layla, and Isaac.  She leaves behind siblings Manuel, José, Dolores, and Graciela Guadarrama and many nieces and nephews.

A gathering of Mrs. Rodriguez’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., with her Rosary to be recited at 6:00 p.m. Friday, September 20, 2019 at Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont. A funeral service celebrating her life will be 9:00 a.m., Saturday, September 21, 2019, at Broussard’s, with her interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Beaumont.
