It’s 2022 and I remember this beautiful lady from more than 40 years ago. I just discovered this announcement. May God bless her children, grandchildren and family. I was more blessed to have known her than she was to know me. Barbara was an encourager in my life when life was very difficult for me as a struggling teenager. I have never forgotten her and her short time of influence in my life has been with me all these years. Her input into me is part of how I am able to minister to hurting youth today. She was a blessing though she would have never thought so.

Barbara used to babysit me when I was in early elementary school. I loved staying with her because she told me wonderful, happy stories. She would rub my back with her gentle fingertips and hum to me as I fought going to sleep. She'd kiss my cheek and tell me she loved me, then snuggle with me until I was sound asleep. Dear cousin, you're now in the arms of Jesus, and I'm sure you now know how you made me feel. Sleep well and happily.
