Bill Ashford

Bill Ashford III, 66, of Groves, died Sunday, September 1, 2019, at Christus Hospital, St. Elizabeth, Beaumont. He was born on August 21, 1953, to Rachel Joyner and William Alexander Ashford, Jr., in Beaumont. Bill enjoyed hunting and especially fishing. He loved shooting pool and even participated in many tournaments.

Survivors include his wife, Karen Bertrand, of Nederland; daughter, Brooke Auajio, of Groves; sons, Eric Bertrand and his wife, Marlayna and Alex Bertrand and his wife, Kimberly both of Groves; grandchildren, Brandon, Christina, Ryan, Layla, Paisley, Micalyn, Zachary, and Cody; sisters, Deb Gilbert and her husband, Bob, of Laurel, Mississippi and Nita Kirkham, of Beaumont.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Sharon.

A gathering of Mr. Ashford’s family and friends will begin at 12:00 p.m. with his funeral service beginning at 2:00 p.m., on Saturday, September 7, 2019, at Broussard’s, 134 West Buccaneer Drive, Winnie. His interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Winnie.
