Carl Wuenschel

February 21, 1939 - July 8, 2019

Carl “Crazy Horse” Keith Wuenschel, 80, of Port Arthur, died Monday, July 8, 2019, at Magnolia Manor, Groves. He was born on February 21, 1939, to Susan Ann Zeiner Wuenschel and George Fredrick Wuenschel, Sr., in Erie, Pennsylvania. Carl was in the United States Navy and a United States Merchant Marine. He later became a Kansas City railroad conductor.

Survivors include his wife, Becky Wuenschel, of Port Arthur; daughter, Shannon Seymour and her husband, Brian, of Nederland; grandchildren, Brandon and Blaine Seymour, of Nederland; sister, Suzanne Welch, of Port Acres; and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, George Wuenschel, Jr.; and step father, Robert E. Tucker.

A gathering of Mr. Wuenschel’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, July 11, 2019, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. His funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, July 12, 2019, at Broussard’s, Nederland, with his interment to follow at Memory Gardens of Jefferson County, Nederland.

In lieu of flowers, memroial contributions may be made to American Heart Association, 10900-B Stonelake Boulevard, Suite 320, Austin, Texas 78759; American Diabetes Association, 2400 Augusta Drive, Suite 175, Houston, Texas 77057; or to American Cancer Society, #4 Bayou Brandt, Suite B, Beaumont, Texas 77706.
