Chad Whitman

Chad Whitman, 36, of Nederland, died Saturday, May 13, 2017. A lifetime resident of the area, he was born on June 21, 1980, to Rhonda Lee Greer and Robert Lamar Whitman, Jr., in Nederland.

Chad was a member of IBEW Local 479. He enjoyed football, soccer, and other sports. Chad will be remembered as a loving father, son, brother, and grandson with a selfless heart.

Survivors include his daughters, Hannah and Emilee Whitman; sons, Izakk and Ryann Whitman; mother, Rhonda Sanderson and her husband, Judge Gary Sanderson, of Taylor Landing; father, Robert Whitman and his wife, Paula, of Labelle; grandmother, Mozell Whitman of Nederland; grandfather, Robert “Sibley” Greer of Port Acres; brothers, Trevor Cooper of Port Acres and Brock Cooper of Port Arthur; aunt, Lisa McGlothin; uncle, Alvin Breaux; and cousins, Heather Dore and her husband, Troy, Sabrie Breaux, Blaine and Ashley McGlothin, and Haylee and Tate Dore.

He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Robert L. “Bob” Whitman, Sr.; grandmother, Ruth Greer; aunt, Kimberly “Auntie” Breaux; and uncle, Robert Edwin Greer.

A gathering of Chad’s family and friends will begin at 10:00 a.m., followed by his funeral service at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, May 18, 2017, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. His interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Beaumont.
