Dalton DeMoss

October 18, 1994 - September 17, 2019

Dalton Alexander DeMoss, 24, of High Island, died Tuesday, September 17, 2019. He was born to Darla Kay Barrow and David Dean DeMoss, on October 18, 1994, in Carlsbad, California. Dalton was an apprentice plumber with Kent Plumbing.

Dalton loved to play sports in school. He participated in football, basketball, track and baseball and excelled in all of them. Dalton loved gaming on his Xbox One with all his friends and family. His dad enjoyed gaming with him and they both were very competitive with each other.   He was always playing jokes with people and always smiling and laughing, and made you want to laugh. He had exceptional hearing and you could be in one room whistling and he wouldn’t even be in the same area but would hear you and come out laughing and whistling along with you.   He was a kindhearted person. Even while he was sick, he would still think of others and try and make you laugh.

He is survived by his parents, Darla and David DeMoss, of High Island; paternal grandmother, Estille DeMoss, of Bullard; brothers, Dustin Barrow and his wife, Shelby, of Spring, David DeMoss II and Derek DeMoss, both of High Island; sister, Dannon DeMoss, of High Island; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.

A gathering of Mr. DeMoss’ family and friends will begin at 12:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 24, 2019, with his funeral service at 2:00 p.m., at First Baptist Church of High Island, 1368 Weeks Avenue, High Island, under the direction of Broussard’s, Winnie.  His interment will follow at High Island Cemetery.

Dalton was one of the first neighbors to greet when I moved here in April 2017. He gifted me a tomato plant. He also mowed my grass regularly, and helped me move heavy stuff. He was a great neighbor-helpful, creative, respectful, and optimistic..
