Debbie Massey Leleux

September 21, 1954 - November 9, 2019

Debbie Massey Leleux, age 65, of Lumberton, Texas, passed away November 9, 2019. Debbie was born on September 21, 1954 in Miami, Florida to parents Pricilla Polinsky Massey and Giles Massey.

Debbie was a kind soul who loved her husband, stepchildren, and grandchildren. She was a special lady who cherished every friend she ever met. Her friends and family where a special blessing to her, especially all the children who she truly enjoyed. She was the “candy lady” for years. The children in her neighborhood would come over for a piece of candy and a soda and some good company. Debbie worked as a secretary for several businesses in the area. She was the church secretary for St. Mark’s in Silsbee, and also an active member of both St. Mark’s and Infant Jesus. The ACTS community was a big part of Debbie’s life. She is a good faithful servant who shared her love of Christ.

Debbie lost the use of her legs 11 years ago. She used her strong faith and trust in her loving Father to rise above her struggles and keep such happiness in her heart. Debbie always had a smile on her face and an “I’m doing great!” while she was asking how YOU were doing. She would not let those wheels define her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Giles and Pricilla Massey.

Left to honor Debbie’s memory is her beloved husband of 22 years, Dexter Leleux; sister, Linda Massey Benn and husband, Ray; nieces, Shaunna Benn, Charlene Carmichael and Jolene Benn of Summerville, North Carolina; nephew, Jeremy Massey of Dillon, South Carolina; aunt, Rose Marie Polinsky of Pensacola, Florida; stepsons, Walley Leleux and Donald Leleux; grandchildren, Caleigh Leleux and Ethan Leleux of Corydon, Indiana; brothers-in-law, Winn Leleux and wife, Betty, and Michael Leleux and wife, Amy, of Bridge City, Texas; and ten great-nieces and nephews.

Debbie will be continually honored as a dear ACTS Sister and Sister in Christ to all who knew and loved her.

A memorial mass and memorial gathering will be planned at a later date.
