Devavaram Christopher

December 18, 1942 - April 24, 2018

Brother Devavaram Samuel Christopher, 75, brother in law of R.B. Reddy, a local Physical Therapist, went to be with the Lord at 12:05 AM on April 24, 2018. Christopher was a full time minister and a missionary, and travelled all over the world. He was involved in a head on collision on Major Drive on August 11, 2012, in which he lost his wife, Ruth, a medical doctor and a missionary. He had sustained severe injuries including head injury. He ultimately became bedbound and was taken care by his brother in law, R.B. Reddy, his wife and their only son who finished his medicine and is finishing his law degree.

Christopher is survived by his younger brothers, Eliezer, Johnny, Nehemiah, a younger sister, Esther, and their children.

A funeral service for Brother Christopher will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, April 28, 2018, at Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont. His interment will follow at Magnolia Cemetery, Beaumont, under the direction of Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. The family requests no flowers, please.

I did not know the deceased but my admiration is for Mr. R. B. Reddy. He gave of him unselfishly to care for his injured brother-in-law. His compassion made all the difference in the quality of life he had left. I believe it was a gracious example of our Lord's admonition to love our fellow man. Mr. Reddy did it all in the shadow of the death of his sister. We should all be so thoughtful.
