Dolores Hall

August 12, 1927 - March 14, 2019

Dolores Wilson Hall was born on August 12, 1927, in Buna, Texas to Thomas and Verna Wilson. She was raised in Jefferson County and attended Beaumont High School.  In 1942, she married Orville C. Hall.  After the war, they started their family, first welcoming Orvalee, then Craig a year later.

Dolores worked as a bookkeeper at Palais Royal and later, the White House. She also was a frequent guest writer for the Hardin County News.  She and her husband were active members of North End Methodist Church, involved with the youth program and missions. As one of the earliest families to settle in the new township of Bevil Oaks, they were both involved in their community.  She also had an avid interest in her family’s genealogy and was the keeper of many family letters and documents. She was also a proud member of The Daughters of the Republic of Texas, The Daughters of the American Revolution, and Southeast Texas Genealogical Society.

Dolores was also “Memaw” to four grandchildren, and “GG” to eleven great-grandchildren. She was a hands-on grandmother, spending many extra hours attending school programs and many, many music recitals.

She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers and sister, her husband of sixty-two years, Orville, and daughter in law, Jan Hudson. She is survived by her children, Orvalee Husband and her husband Armon, and Craig Hall and his wife Vickie; sisters in law Janie Trotman, Nelda Peacock, and Judith Wilson; four grandchildren, Noel Turner and her husband Fred, Ellen Gonzalez and her husband Trini, Sara Patterson and husband Tony, and Casey Hall and wife Kathryn. She also leaves behind eleven great-grandchildren-Lizzie, Alexandra, Isabella, James, Oscar, Jackson, Sadie, Piper, Jordan, Tanner, and Madelyn.

A gathering of Mrs. Hall’s family and friends will be from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., Sunday, March 17, 2019, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. Her funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, March 18, 2019, at Wesley United Methodist Church, 3810 North Major Drive, Beaumont, with her interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Beaumont.

Memorial contributions may be made to Wesley United Methodist Church, 3810 North Major Drive, Beaumont, Texas 77713.

Orvalee I am so sorry for the loss of your sweet Mother. I remember going to her house with my own mother to look at all the genealogy she had on the McMahon Family.

To the Family of Mrs. Hall She was a very special lady and friend for many years. . I worked in banking and considered she and Mr. Hall not customers but friends. May you have comfort in each of the memories you shared with her. My prayers and sympathy.
