Earl Lloyd "Buddy" Sherrill, Jr.

Earl Lloyd “Buddy” Sherrill, Jr., 86, of Winnie, died Monday, April 20, 2020. He was born March 4, 1934, in Bastrop, to Eva Massingill Sherrill and Earl Lloyd Sherrill, Sr.

Buddy was a United States Marine Corps veteran having earned the rank of corporal while he served as an aircraft mechanic during the Korean conflict. He and his late wife of sixty-five years, Yvonne Sherrill, were owners of a mobile home community. Buddy was known for being a very skilled handy man. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, as well as, shooting pool and playing dominoes.

Survivors include his son, Kevin Wade Sherrill, of Bride City; grandchildren, Tyler Ladner and wife, Lisa, of Port Neches and Kaylon Brack and husband, Ryan, of Orangefield; great-grandchildren, Kortni Gunn; Kamryn Brack; Jenna Ladner; and Madilyn Brack; sister, Myrl Blakney and husband, Roger, of Shreveport, Louisiana; niece, Cyndi Thornton and husband, Steve, of Monroe, Louisiana; and sister-in-law, Gay Nell Koehn.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Eva and Earl Sherrill; wife of sixty-five years, Yvonne Sherrill; daughter-in-law, Gayla Renee Sherrill; and sisters, Eva Louis Murphee; Edna Mae Rogers; and Virginia Katherine Spain.

A family graveside service for Mr. Sherrill will be held at Fairview Cemetery, Winnie, under the direction of Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland.
