Ela Rabel

December 9, 1960 - September 15, 2018

Ela Rabel, 57, of La Porte passed Saturday, September 15, 2018, at her home surrounded by family and friends after a short battle with cancer. She was born on December 9, 1960 in Jezow Sudecki, Poland to Anna Wieronska and Jan Wrona.

Ela loved cooking, baking, and preparing traditional polish meals for her family and making holiday gatherings special. She loved spending time and working on her and her husband’s property in Jasper, Texas. She loved flowers, gardening, and feeding the deer.

Survivors include her husband, Bryan Rabel; sons, Richard Shepherd, Andrew Shepherd, Adam Rabel, Jesse Rabel, Justin Riojas, and Aaron Rabel; daughter, Taylor Rabel; sisters, Anna Lasota and Krystyna Matczak; and eleven grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Daniela Glos.

A gathering of Mrs. Rabel’s family and friends will begin at 12:00 p.m., followed by her funeral service at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 19, 2018, at Broussard’s 134 West Buccaneer Drive, Winnie. Her cremation arrangements were handled through Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont.

Memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Rabel’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105 or the American Red Cross, P.O. Box 37839, Boone, Iowa 50037-0839.
