Ella Marie Duhon

June 25, 1953 - July 26, 2019

 Ella Marie Duhon, 66, of Vidor, died at home Friday, July 26, 2019. She was born on June 25, 1953, in Erie, Pennsylvania, to Dottress O. Duffey and Sylvester Frances Travis, Sr. She moved to Vidor, Texas when she was two years old.

Ella attended Lonnie’s school of hair design and worked as a Beautician at Beauty World and Moe & Sue’s Cuttin’ up hair salons in Vidor. She managed Montgomery Ward Hair Salon Parkdale Mall. She worked alongside Shay at The Pigstand and also worked alongside the father of her children, Eddie, at Duhon Automotive. She knew and loved our savior Jesus Christ and was a member of First Pentecostal Church Vidor, Texas.

She is survived by her daughters, Chastity “Shay” Santana and her spouse, Danny, and Dea Duhon; son, James “Jamie” Duhon, Jr.; grandchildren, Brandon Travis, Emily Denby, Ronnie Davis, Raven Duhon Joffrion, Vladimir Hardy, Savannah Hardy, and Alyssa Blue Duhon; one great-grandchild, Ja’Quiree Denby; sisters, Jimmie Joe Mikel, Dorothy Wood, Annie Chambles, and Elizabeth Smith; brothers, Wesley Travis, Richard Travis, and Michael Travis; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

She is preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Ella Duhon; granddaughter, Heather Denby; grandson, Dalton James Duhon; sister, Sylvia F. Jones; and brother, Sylvester F. Travis, Jr.

Ms. Duhon’s cremation arrangements were handled through Broussard’s Crematorium, under the direction of Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
