Fred “Jim” James Fischer, Jr., 80, of Kountze died, Thursday, January 9, 2020. He was born on March 1, 1939, in Houston, to Hattie Maude Roach Fischer and Fred James Fischer, Sr. Jim was a United States Army Veteran having served during Vietnam Era.

Survivors include his wife, Virginia Fischer of Kountze; children, Christy Fischer-Bonin and her husband, Mike Snider; Robert Fischer and his wife, Carrie, all of Lumberton; Karl Fischer and his wife, Cynthia, of Austin; Sherry Fischer of Clearlake; and Mark Fischer and his wife, Sharon, of Kyle; stepchildren, Brandon Monk and his wife Alicia, of Nederland; and Brent Monk and his fiancée, Liz Brackett, of Cincinnati, Ohio; grandchildren, Ashely Dobbins, Blanche Isenblitter, Samantha Deen, Hunter Hill, Erin Rayburn, Ryan Fischer, Gage Clemons, Makenzie Bonin, Logan Fischer, Braily Fischer; brothers, William Fischer, Jack Fischer, Bob Fischer, Don Fischer, and Richard Fischer; and eight great-grandchildren.

Fred is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Thomas Fischer.

A gathering of Mr. Fischer’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., with a Rosary recited at 6:00 p.m., Sunday, January 12, 2020, Broussard’s, 490, Cemetery Road, Silsbee. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Monday, January 13, 2020, Holy Spirit Catholic Mission, 470 Monroe Street, Kountze. His interment will be 1:00 p.m., Thursday, January 16, 2020, at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston.
