James Coudrain, Jr.

November 20, 1943 - October 6, 2019

James Joseph Coudrain, Jr, 75, of Kountze, passed away on Sunday, October 6, 2019, after a long battle with cancer. He was born on November 20, 1943, in Silsbee, to Bessie Ella Davidson and James Joseph Coudrian, Sr. James was a United States Army Veteran.

In 1966, he went to work for the Paper Mill in Evadale as a millwright, James retired after forty years. He loved to farm, travel, and fish. James will be missed by all who knew him.

Survivors include Judy Swift and family; three sons, Buster Coudrain and his wife, Cotie, of Mauricville; John Coudrain, of Amarillo; Jerry Coudrain, of Baytown; daughter, Sylvia Powell, of Palestine, West Virginia; granddaughter, Caroline; sister, Vernie Burks, of Mauriceville; numerous, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

James is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Fahy Strawther, Laverne Coudrain, Bessie Coudrian, and Mary Jane Burkes; and brother, Charlie Wayne.

We were so grateful for Dr. Shariq Ahmad, American Renal in Beaumont, Heart of Texas Hospice and staff, Linda and Kellie McGraw, who helped James and family through the final walk.

A gathering of Mr. Coudrain’s family and friends will begin at 10:00 a.m., with his funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 11, 2019, at Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee. His interment will follow at Autumn Oaks Cemetery, Orange.
