James McClendon
James “Kemo” Lee McClendon, 52, of Fannett, died Wednesday, October 30, 2019. He was born on September 6, 1967, in Norman, Oklahoma, to Betty Lou Burrows and Bobby Joe McClendon. He was a sales representative in the industrial valve and fitting industry, working for Sunbelt Supply.
Kemo enjoyed Hamshire-Fannett football, he never missed a game in or out of town since he graduated from high school. He enjoyed his yard work; he was known as “the grass king”. Kemo liked to travel and woodwork. He was always the life of the party, and he was a never-ending jokester. Kemo enjoyed family gatherings, but most of all he loved his family.
He is survived by his wife, Monica McClendon; daughter, Erin Leigh McClendon; sons, Hayden Mitchell McClendon and Logan Ross McClendon; and sister, Carrie Sanders and her husband, Jon, all of Fannett; brothers, Gary “Scooter” McClendon and his wife, Charlotte, of Arlington and Joe Pat McClendon and his wife, Crispen, of Hemphill; sister, Barbara Kintner and her husband, Carl, of Fannett; numerous nieces and nephews; mother and father-in-law, Joyce and Jacob Cialona; and brother and sister-in-law, Jason and Robbi LeLeaux, all of Fannett.
Kemo is preceded in death by his parents, Betty and Bobby McClendon.
A gathering of Mr. McClendon’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Sunday, November 3, 2019, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive Beaumont. His funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, November 4, 2019, at Broussard’s, with his interment to follow at Memory Gardens of Jefferson County, Nederland.

I remember Kemo staying with us on cedar Street back in the day ,. He always had a smile on his face and always had the ability to make us laugh.. I remember my sweet mommy being particularly happy that he got to stay with us that summer... He was always a joy to be around... I remember us joking around saying that we were both 67 models... My deepest condolences to the entire family ... Heaven received a great man, a really great man !! He will be truly missed.. love you forever plus infinity Kemo !!!
