James “Mike” Jennis

November 14, 1955 - June 17, 2018

James “Mike” Jennis, 62, of Pinewood, died Sunday, June 17, 2018, at MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston. He was born on November 14, 1955, to Mary Catherine Young and James Jennis, in Spokane, Washington. Mike was a lifetime member of the YMBL. He enjoyed and loved his grandchildren, grilling, NASCAR, gardening, and football, especially the Denver Broncos.

Survivors include his wife, Marlene Jennis; daughter, Brittany Jennis of Nederland; stepson, Brady Alexander and his wife, Miranda, of California; grandchildren, Madilyn Bachelder and Maylin Alexander; sister, Melissa Ahrens of Wisconsin; three nieces; and his dog, Sallie.

He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Mark Jennis.

A gathering of Mr. Jennis’ family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., with a Rosary recited at 6:30 p.m., Thursday, June 21, 2018, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Friday, June 22, 2018, at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, 225 West Barkley, Sour Lake. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

Memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, P.O. Box 1359, Sour Lake, Texas 77659.
