Jean Delbert Brown, Jr.

November 11, 1951 - January 20, 2021

Jean Delbert Brown, Jr., 69, of Prairieville, Louisiana, formerly of Port Neches, died Wednesday, January 20, 2021, at Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas, Beaumont. He was born November 11, 1951, in Leesville, Louisiana, to Augusta Marie Holscher Brown and Jean Delbert Brown, Sr.

Jean was a United States Air Force veteran. He was a US Air Force maintenance supervisor for T-38 jets. He was also a long-time member of the Masonic Lodge. For thirty-two years, he was employed with OxyChem, Convent, Louisiana as a utility technician. Jean was a 1970 graduate of PNG High School where he was a former middle linebacker from 1967 until 1970. He graduated from Lamar University with his Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice.

Jean loved watching football and baseball, especially, LSU. He also enjoyed cooking, fishing, and playing golf.

Survivors include his wife, Becky Boorman Brown, of Prairieville, Louisiana; children, Dr. Jeremy Brown and wife, Alison, of Benton, Louisiana; Jason Brown, of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; and Jennifer McCormick and husband, George, of Houston, Texas; eight grandchildren; sister, Nanette Kimball and husband, Robert, of Pineland, Texas; brother, James Brown and wife, Dana, of Beaumont, Texas; brother-in-law, Tim Pallone; sister-in-law, Jackie B. Murphy and husband, Derris, all of Houston, Texas; and six nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Augusta and Jean Brown, Sr.; and siblings, John Brown; Susie Brown; and Sallie Pallone.

A gathering of Mr. Brown’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Friday, January 29, 2021, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. His funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 30, 2021, at Broussard’s, with his interment to follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park, Port Neches.
