Jerry H. Edmiston
Jerry H. Edmiston, 85, of Beaumont, died Wednesday, April 29, 2020, at Christus Southeast Texas-St. Elizabeth, Beaumont. He was born on February 5, 1935, in Tyler to Edith A. Moorehead and Robert A. Edmiston. Jerry was a United States Navy veteran, and he retired as Texas State Trooper, after thirty-five years of employment. After his retirement, Jerry served another fifteen years as an US Marshall.
He served as an Elder and Deacon at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, for many years. Jerry has sixty years as a Mason and was very active with the Scottish Society in Beaumont.
He had many hobbies such as making and engraving musket rifles, and picture framing, the H O Gauge train layout of the Motif Line. Jerry also made to scale US Aircraft Carriers, like The Houston; The Arizona; The New Mexico; and The West Virginia.
He is survived by his son, Rick Edmiston and his wife, Cindy, of Eddie, Texas; and daughter, Vicki Edmiston, of Lumberton.
Cremation arrangements for Mr. Edmiston were handled through Broussard’s Crematorium, under the direction of Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, 1350 North 23rd Street, Beaumont, Texas 77706.

Jerry and Betty sang in the church choir with me for many years. I loved them both. Jerry continued to come to church until he became ill. He always had a smile. He will be dearly missed. Our prayers are with all of his family. Nancy and Bill

Jerry and I were Troopers in Beaumont, and became very good friends. Jerry and his wife invited us to eat supper one night in their home. She, by far, made the best German Sausage, Sauerkraut, and German potato salad I have ever eaten. These two people were just great to be friends with. Like myself, Jerry has missed his wife for many years. Glad that they are back together. Rest in Peace, my friend.

Rick, very sorry to hear of the passing of your father. I was very close to him at dps and we also worked together at the Marshall office. We also attended lodge together for a few years as he worked in all 3 of my degress. After I retired I move off for about 15 years then came back to sour lake and lost track of Jerry. I now work for the sheriff in liberty county and pass through Bruceville Eddie weekly on my travels. Look forward to seeing y’all at the next fhs reunion...
