Jo Ann Austin
Jo Ann Scott Austin, 84, died peacefully on Wednesday, August 14, 2019, at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont, Texas. She was born on June 15, 1935, to Myrtle Jane Morrison Scott and Elbert Monroe Scott in Moran, Texas. She graduated as Valedictorian of the class of 1953 at Moran High School. Jo Ann had resided in Beaumont for the last seven years, but she was a long time resident of Fort Worth, Texas.
Jo Ann was preceded in death by her husband of forty-two years, Jimmie Lee Austin; her parents; four brothers; and one sister. She is survived by her sons, Scott and wife, Patty Austin, of Benbrook, Texas; and David and wife, Laura Austin, of Beaumont, Texas. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Samuel and wife, Courtney Austin and Adam Austin of Benbrook; and Luke and Matthew Austin, both of Beaumont. Her first great-grandson is expected in September.
The family is especially thankful to Claudia Pena for the special care and loving support she provided to Jo Ann.
A graveside service for Mrs. Austin will be at 10:00 a.m., Sunday, August 18, 2019, at Moran Cemetery, FM 2408, Moran, under the direction of Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.

Others would ask “you like your mother in law?” I LOVED my mother in law. She was the perfect example of how a lady should act. She worked hard to let us all know how much she loved us. She was a wonderful mother, mother in law, and a grandmother our boys adored! Grandma will be missed but we have the memories of a great women!
