Joe Manes

Joe Allen Manes, 86, of Nederland, died Sunday, September 9, 2018. He was born April 3, 1932, in Norman, Oklahoma, to Clara Mae Van Cleave and Julius Jefferson Manes.

Allen was a United States Army veteran that enjoyed woodworking, long walks, photography, and spending time with his family. He also enjoyed working and was a Rock Hound.

Survivors include his wife of sixty-three years, Shirley Manes; children, Victoria Lynn Manes, both of Nederland; April Lee Van Matre and her husband, Lewis, of Columbia, Tennessee; Terry Elaine McCauley and her husband, Robb, of Georgetown; Robin Rene Vick and her husband, Eric, of Katy; Scott Allen Manes and his wife, Tammy, of Santa Fe; Leslie DeAnne Manes and her husband, Troy Tillie, of Nederland; grandchildren, Christi, Jason, Louie, Josh, Chris, Sara, Jordan, Spencer, Carson, Cooper, Scott, Felicia, Tristanna, Breanna, Crista, Thaine, and Tanner; and great-grandchildren, Cameron, Kayle, Zachary, Noah, Danika, Jacey, Jared, and Laney.

He is preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter, Helena; one brother; and two sisters.

A family committal will be held at Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont, under the direction of Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland.
