John Franks

August 22, 1939 - April 20, 2019

John T. Franks, 79, of Beaumont, died Saturday, April 20, 2019, at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on August 22, 1939, in Newton, to Johnnie Seybold Franks and Robert Franks. John was a United States Air Force veteran. He retired from Goodyear after thirty-five years of employment as a utility’s manager. John was a member of B.F. Quicksall Lodge #1370 A.F. & A.M. Masonic Lodge, Beaumont.

John is survived by his wife, Judy Pearl Franks, of Beaumont; sons, John R. Franks and his wife, Evette and Jeff Franks and his wife, Carrie, all of Beaumont; and Jim Franks and his wife, Lisa, of Fulshear; grandchildren, Garrick Franks and his wife, K’Leigh, of Vidor; Grant Franks and his wife, Kaylan, of Dayton; Brandon Franks, of Beaumont; SRA Brad Franks and his wife, Sidney, stationed in Omaha, Nebraska; Bailey Rose and her husband, Klay, of Buna; Alison Franks and Lily Franks, both of Fulshear; great-grandchildren, Gauge Franks, Dawson Franks, Bryleigh Franks, and Olivia Franks; brother, Jim Bob Franks and his wife, Betty, of Topeka, Kansas; and sister-in-law, Joyce Franks, of Vidor.

He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Marjorie Franks Griner, in 2004; brother, Ed Franks, in 2013; and great-granddaughter, Kensley Franks, in 2019.

A gathering of Mr. Franks’ family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 23, 2019, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. His funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 24, 2019, at First United Methodist Church, 701 Calder Avenue, Beaumont, with his interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Beaumont.
