Joyce P. Payne

Joyce P. Payne, 87, of Beaumont, died March 11, 2018. She was born April 10, 1930, in Mooreville, to Jewel Polk Polston and Preston Polston. She had been a resident of the area for over twenty-five years. Joyce was retired secretary from the United States Attorney General’s office.

She is survived by Tresa Tolin and her husband, David; grandchildren, Clara Joyce Payne; David L. Tolin, Jr. and his wife, Rénee; John D. Tolin, and his wife, Heather; Philip Tolin; Joseph E. Tolin and his wife, Ashley; twelve great-grandchildren; many other relatives and friends.

Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Edward M. Payne; son, Preston E. Payne; granddaughter, Joyce Marie Tolin; and brother, Darrell “Joe” Polston.

A gathering of Mrs. Payne’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., with a Rosary recited at 6:00 p.m., followed by Vespers of the Dead, at 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 13, 2017 at Broussard’s Chapel, 2000 McFaddin, Beaumont. A Lauds of the Dead followed by the Divine Mercy Chaplet will be at 9:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 14, 2018. A Requiem Mass will be offered at 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 14, 2018, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 1600 North Main, Vidor. The Rite of Burial will be at 12:00 noon, Thursday, March 15, 2018 at Waco Memorial Park, 7537 South Interstate 35, Robinson, Texas.
