Loretta Lee

Loretta Dean Lee passed away on July 27, 2019, at her home following a brave and courageous fight with cancer. Her husband of fifty-three years, Ronald Lee, was at her bedside. Loretta was born on August 30, 1947, to Edes Racca and the late Verda Racca. Loretta graduated from Port Neches Groves High School and Lamar University. She worked in Beaumont, Texas, for thirty-five years until her retirement. She was a loyal employee for the City of Beaumont Planning and Zoning Department as a legal aid for twenty years. She also worked as a paralegal for U. S. Attorney Bob Wortham in the U. S. District Attorney’s Office.

Loretta and Ronnie had great years with close friends Berta Kuebodeaux and the late Gerald Kuebodeaux. They moved to Mont Belvieu in 2008. Those left behind missing Loretta’s sweet smile are her father, Edes Racca of Groves; sisters, Dolores Green and Donna Kaye Racca of Groves; brothers, Ronnie Racca of Buna and Darren Racca of Buna; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Often times birth or marriage does not make a family, but instead a close love and friendship makes for a strong “family” bond. The families of Berta Kuebodeaux and the late Gerald Kuebodeaux, Richard and Angie Provost, David and Donna Truncale, Tanya and the late Larry Peterson, and James and Rhonda Arnett will forever hold her memory in their hearts. Loretta was the fifth Kuebodeaux sister, the “special” aunt to their children, and dearest “Gigi” to their grandchildren. 

A gathering of Mrs. Lee’s family and friends will be from 10:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, July 31, 2019, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. Her graveside service will follow Wednesday afternoon at 12:00 p.m., at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, 4955 Pine Street, Beaumont.
