Morgan “Smokey” Alleman

March 6, 1939 - September 22, 2017

Morgan “Smokey” Alleman, 78, of Port Neches, died Friday, September 22, 2017. He was born on March 6, 1939, in New Orleans.

Morgan loved to work with the Stock market on his computer. He enjoyed scuba diving in Cozumel, snow skiing, coin collecting, and eating crabs. He also did rescue and recovery diving for the fire department. He retired after more than thirty years of service with the Beaumont Fire and Rescue station 7. In his early years, he won many motorcycle races.

Survivors include his wife, Patsy Alleman of Port Neches; step-sons, Keith Viator and his wife, Becky, of Montgomery and Kerry Viator and his wife, Pam, of Nederland; grandchildren, Danielle, Josh, and Lauren Viator; brother, Boyd Alleman and his wife, Sherry, of Lake Charles; and sisters, Elaine Martin of Columbia, Missouri; Deborah Pedersen and her husband, Eric, of Navarre Beach, Florida; and Martha Nell Lejeune of Conroe.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and son, Vance Alleman.

A gathering of Mr. Alleman’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Sunday, September 24, 2017, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 2711 Helena Avenue, Nederland. His funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, September 25, 2017, at Holy Cross, under the direction of Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. His interment will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park, Port Neches.

Memorial contributions for Mr. Alleman may be made to Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 2711 Helena Avenue, Nederland, Texas 77627.
