Ray Edward Guidry
Ray Edward Guidry, 92, of Fannett, died Friday, April 20, 2018. He was born on October 14, 1925, in Port Arthur, to Flourence Alice Bash and Oleus Joseph Guidry.
Ray enjoyed fishing and gardening. He spent many hours in his shop woodworking. Most of all, he lived for his family and enjoyed life to the fullest.
Survivors include his children, Donna Langley and her husband, David, of Mauriceville; Julie Ann Hutchinson of Fannett; Gene L. Guidry and his wife, Deana, of Fannett; Marlene Mezzell and her husband, Billy, of Port Neches; and Darlene Hargraves; twelve grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; sisters, Bernice Guidry of College Station; Alice Greer of LaBelle; and Carol Demahy and her husband, Earl of Lake Charles; brother, Marvin Guidry and his wife, Molly, of Jasper.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Odessa Guidry; sisters, Ethel Mae Hughes, and Elsie Broaddus; brothers, Clifford Guidry, Dewey James Guidry; and granddaughter, Christa Lynn Greene.
The family would like to send a special thanks to Pat, Elsie, and Hailey, his caregivers. They were a Godsend to dad.
A gathering of Mr. Guidry’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., with His Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m., Monday, April 23, 2018, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. His funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 24, 2018, at Broussard’s, Nederland, with his interment to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Groves.
