Robert Briggs
Robert Thomas Briggs, 82, of Lumberton, died Thursday, June 20, 2019. He was born on March 4, 1937, in Beaumont, to Nelda Langston Briggs and Wilburn Briggs.
Survivors include his wife, June Briggs; sons, Reverend Scott Briggs and his wife, Kathy, of Silsbee and Tim Briggs and his wife, Elizabeth, of Tomball; grandchildren, Erin Fortner and her husband, Clint, of Leakey; Reverend Kennon Briggs and his wife, Amanda, of Athens, Greece; Taylor Briggs and Madalynn Briggs, both of Tomball; Joshua Briggs and Blake Briggs, both of Beaumont; Grayson Briggs of Nome; and Samantha Sexton and her husband, Toby, of Port Neches; great-grandchildren, Ethan Fortner, Anna Katherine Fortner, Corbin Fortner, Landry Fortner, Carter Briggs, Addison Briggs, Ruby Sexton, and Hudson Sexton; sister, Beverly Pounds of Austin; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Jay Briggs; brother, Charles Briggs; and sister, Gloria Merrill.
A gathering of Robert’s family and friends will begin at 12:00 p.m., with his funeral service at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 25, 2019, at Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee. His interment will follow at Resthaven Cemetery, Silsbee.
