Roy Brown
Roy Weldon Brown, 56, of Kountze, died, Thursday, January 17, 2019. He was born on November 21, 1962, in Kountze, to Edna Irene Honeycutt and Daniel Williford Brown, Sr.
Roy was a lifelong resident of Kountze, Texas and had acquired numerous friends over the years, with many who had become more like family.
If Roy was not at work, he was at the Clear Lake Hunting Club to which he had been a lifelong member of. He absolutely loved to fish, hunt, cook, and spend time with his friends and family.
Roy has often been referred to as a gentle giant. He was a quiet, soft spoken man of few words, unless you spoke negatively about his Dallas Cowboys… God, he loved them Cowboys!
Roy was a genuine, kind, compassionate, caring, loving man, who always wore a sweet, loving smile that warmed your soul.
The love he had for his friends, family, children, and grandchildren cannot be expressed by words.
Roy will forever have a special place in our hearts, and he will truly be missed and loved forever.
Survivors include his wife, Tessa Brown; mother, Irene Brown, of Kountze; children, Alex Brown of Vidor; and Ashley Paige and her husband, Steve, of Lumberton; grandchildren, Mckenzie Paige and Cannen Paige; stepchildren, Erica Singletary and her husband, Joe, of Silsbee; Anthony Cooper of Hornbeck, Louisiana; Aaron Cooper of Vidor; and Shane Miller, Jr. of Fred; step-grandchildren, Kenzie Cooper, Ariana Singletary, and Cooper Singletary; and siblings, Daniel Brown, Jr., and his wife, Diana; Otha “Brother” Brown and his wife, Becky, all of Kountze; and Laurette Primn and her husband, Richard, of Gun Barrell; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Roy is preceded in death by his father.
A gathering of Mr. Brown’s family and friends will be 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Monday, January 21, 2019, at Little Rock Assembly of God Church, 5970 Highway 326 North, Kountze. His funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 22, 2019, at the church, under the direction of Broussard’s, Kountze. His interment will follow at Old Hardin Cemetery, Kountze.
