Sandy Serda
Sandy Lee Whatley Serda, 42, of Winnie, died Friday, August 23, 2019. She was born to Pamela Rose Wainwright and Jimmy Ray Whatley, Sr., in Natchez, Mississippi, on September 25, 1976. Sandy’s life was centered around her husband and family, but her arms were always open to all. She loved her church family and was very active wherever there was a need. Sandy loved cruises, crafting, and shopping. Most of all, she loved her family.
Survivors include her husband, Robert Serda, of Winnie; sons, Kyle McCarary, of Port Arthur and Robert M. Serda, of Winnie; daughter, Mackenzie Serda, of Winnie; and honorary daughter, Brooklynne Whatley, both of Winnie; father, Jimmy Whatley, Sr., of Monterey, Louisiana; and mother, Pam Whatley, both of Monterey, Louisiana; brothers, Jimmy Whatley, Jr., of Nordhelm and Tommy John Whatley, of Winnie; grandparents, Johnny and Martha Whatley, of Winnie; a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins; and her loving church family and many friends.
A gathering of Mrs. Serda’s family and friends will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Monday, August 26, 2019, at Broussard’s, 134 West Buccaneer Drive, Winnie. Her funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 27, 2019, at Broussard’s, Winnie, with her interment to follow at Fairview Cemetery, Winnie.

Sandy has been a great inspiration to many people. I feel privileged to have been a part of her life . She took my granddaughter Brooklynne Whatley under her wing and took care of her like she was her own daughter while her daddy went to work. She was a momma to her.
