Scotty James Goodsell

February 20, 1987 - August 10, 2020

Scotty James Goodsell, 33, of Kirbyville, passed away on Monday, August 10, 2020, at Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas, Beaumont. He was born February 20, 1987, in Nederland, to Tina Renee’ Gill and Robbie Calvin Sheppard.

Though Scotty was born in Nederland, he grew up and attended school in Kirbyville. He had a love for animals and for the outdoors where he enjoyed the beach and fishing. Scotty was a kindhearted man who loved his family and friends. He was the best friend to his brothers and faithful protector of his mother. His son was his whole heart.

Survivors include his mother, Tina Renee’ Gill, of Colmesneil; son, Gage Ayden Goodsell, of Brazoria; brothers, Todd Lance Goodsell, of Lumberton; Joshua Lynn Goodsell, of Kirbyville; and Kameron Goodsell; nieces and nephews, Kason Jax Goodsell; Kendal Lynn Goodsell; Annamay Jewel Goodsell; and Wyatt Goodsell; grandmother, Shelton Kay Boudreaux; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is remembered with love by Stacia Morris and children, Draven Cade Morris and Tristyn Jade Morris, of Port Arthur.

He is preceded in death by his father, Robbie Calvin Sheppard; grandfather, Donald L. Gill; step-grandfather, Eugene Paul Boudreaux; and grandfather, Karis “Gene” Goodsell.

A gathering of Scotty’s family and friends will begin at 12:00 p.m., with his funeral service at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, August 15, 2020, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland, with Reverend Frank Hodges officiating. A family committal will be held at Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont.

The family wishes to express their heart felt gratitude to the many family and friends who have given their love and support in our time of loss and need.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Southeast Texas to P.O. Box 1629, Beaumont, Texas 77704.
