Sherron Wallace-Gallier

May 10, 1946 - August 3, 2019

Sherron “Sherry” Wallace-Gallier, passed away on Saturday, August 3, 2019, at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont, Texas. She was 73 years old. Sherry put up a brave fight with Lewy Body Dementia and Parkinsonism for 5 years. Sherry always did things her way, and in the end she left the way she wanted to; still in the fight!

Sherry was born May 10, 1946, to parents Walt Wallace and Liwana Wallace. She loved hunting and cooking wild game. In her early years, she married and was able to travel to Iceland and Virginia, before returning to Southeast Texas, with her first of two sons. She stayed in Texas for the remainder of her life. Sherry liked to bowl and played on a league. She played so much she actually got a little bend in her right middle finger, after a small fracture, and used to joke about how you never knew exactly who she was “giving the bird” to. Sherry loved her Church at Candlestick in Lumberton, and attended until a health decline in 2017, made attending impossible. She was a devoted Christian and had many in her church family that she often spoke of, in fond remembrance. Her last two years were spent at The Jefferson Nursing and Rehab center in Beaumont. Everyone who worked with her talked about how sweet and funny she was.

Sherry is preceded in death by her parents, and her youngest son, Ray Gallier.

She is survived by brother, Jim Wallace; oldest son, Donnie Gallier his wife, Ami Gallier and their twins, Donovan and Dakota. She was also step-grandmother to Mandy, Charles and Alex. She is also survived by daughter-in-law, Tisha Gallier and grandchildren Ally, Mitchell and Madee; and beloved aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

A gathering of Ms. Gallier’s family and friends will begin at 5:00 p.m., with her funeral service to follow at 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 7, 2019, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. A private graveside service will be held at Pine Ridge Cemetery, Sour Lake.

Mother, Grandmother and Friend; she was loved by so many!

So sorry for your loss Donnie. I was only around her a few times in the mid eighties but she was always a nice lady.

Such a wonderful woman

Sherry called me one day and asked me to help her coach a girls soft ball team. I said, of course I will help you. She was the manager and I was the coach. She learned a lot about the rules and regulations that she didn't know before. At the end of the season we took the team to the beach for the weekend. Sherry always knew how to host a gathering, she always had something funny to say during the games and after the games. Enjoyed the privilege to know her and be friends with her. She raised two sons who both turned out to be fine men. Prayers for the family during this time. Healing and peace in the days to come.

Praying for you all. In the end she wins the fight. Everything is surely crystal clear to her now. May all your sweet memories of her bring you strength and joy and peace in the days, weeks, and years to come.
