Stephen Guernsey, 58, of Nederland, passed away Sunday, September 24, 2017. He was born on April 1, 1959, in Port Arthur, to Louise Ann Putorti Guernsey and Louis Dayton Guernsey.

Stephen was a vibrant presence among friends with his sense of humor and ability to tell a great story. He was a kind, patient and thoughtful man who was appreciated by many. He was a devoted member of his household and faithful friend to many. Stephen found pleasure in the care and sanctuary of his back-yard landscape. He had an interest in fishing and boating as well. Stephen will be dearly remembered and greatly missed. It is our fondest wish that he is resting in peace.

Survivors include his mother, Louise Guernsey of Nederland; brothers, Kenneth Guernsey of Nederland and Darren Guernsey and his wife, Tina, of Lumberton; sisters, Dianne Henslee and her husband, Douglas, of Port Arthur and Melanie Lepla and her husband, David, of Waitsfield, Vermont; numerous dear nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Louis Guernsey.
