William “Al” Hester

William “Al” Hester, 88, of Beaumont, died Wednesday, August 9, 2017, at Harbor Hospice, Beaumont. He was born on October 17, 1928, to Evie Odom and William Hester.

William retired after forty years working in the U.S. Steel. His hobbies included studying geography, reading, and attending his high school state championship games. William always looked forward to his family vacations every August.

He is survived by his wife, Mildred Hester; children, Scott Hester and his wife, Kim; and Cindy Hester; grandchildren, Zac Hester, Erin Hester, Dawn Venza, and Byron Black; and great-grandchildren, Alex Black, Miles Venza, and Ella Lawson.

William was preceded in death by his parents and siblings.

A family committal was held at Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont, under the direction of Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont  Interment of Mr. Hester’s cremated body will be at Magnolia Hill Cemetery, Big Sandy, at a later date.
