Yvonne Wilson

Yvonne Wilson, 97, of Beaumont, passed away Wednesday, October 9, 2019, in Beaumont. She was born on July 22, 1922, to Annie Lucille Newberry Fee and Marion Jackson “Jack” Fee, in Pineland, Texas.

Yvonne Fee was born in the small east Texas town Pineland, and grew up in Wiergate. She graduated from Burkeville High School in 1939, and found work in Newton. There she worked in a small café, War Rations Office, and at a dress shop where she honed her sewing skills she would use throughout her life. She met the love of her life, Pete Wilson, in Newton and they married before he went off to war.  After the war, the family added a daughter, Phyllis, while living in Newton and a son, Mike, while living in Houston. The young family then settled in Beaumont where they lived the rest of their lives.  Pete died in 1999 and Yvonne continued living and enjoying her family another twenty years.

Yvonne was a great seamstress, making clothes for her family, including a wedding dress for her younger sister, and many fabulous quilts for several members of the family. As the family matriarch, she hosted many holiday gatherings for her expanding family, creating priceless memories. Her many talents also included making yard art, picnic tables, crocheting, and cross-stitch.

Yvonne was a devoted wife, sister, mother, aunt and grandmother and she enjoyed time spent with her family. She passed away October 9, 2019 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s.
